Co-choreographed by Mia J. Chong and Rena Butler, Themes of Remembering… examines nostalgia, memory, and recollection through the senses. Two fellow 2019 Princess Grace Award Winners come together to create a unique movement language that puts their artistic and cultural backgrounds in harmonious conversation through the exploration of universal themes. Through the process, Mia and Rena exchanged stories of their experiences and discussed their desire to transcend categories to create freely, without boundaries. They embed this boundless approach to creation through Themes of Remembering…, in which narrative, abstraction, theatricality, and athleticism are tools for artistic play.
